The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Idris Nasiru, for allegedly operating an illegal clinic in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State

The arrest was made on January 14, 2026, following what the police described as a major breakthrough in their ongoing clampdown on medical quackery in the state.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the suspect was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation carried out by the command’s surveillance team.
According to the police, a search of Nasiru’s shop, believed to be used as a clinic, led to the recovery of medical items including injection needles, medical drips, bandages and assorted medical kits.
The statement added that a further search of the suspect’s residence, conducted with a duly signed search warrant, resulted in the recovery of used injection bottles, needles and syringes.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is not a registered medical practitioner, confirming that the clinic was being operated illegally.
Jimoh said the suspect has made useful statements to investigators and will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.
