The Ogun State Police Command has declared Portable, wanted for his alleged involvement in a violent attack on government officials performing their official duties

According to a statement issued by the police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the incident occurred on February 5, 2025, around 10:00 AM.
Officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were conducting an enforcement operation at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota. During the operation, they encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area.
Upon presenting their credentials and requesting the approved building plan, the father informed them that his son was not present.
Shortly after, Portable appeared on the scene, armed with a firearm and accompanied by a gang of nine thugs. They violently attacked the unarmed officials, who sustained injuries but managed to flee and report the incident to the Ota Area Command. The case was then escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
While nine accomplices were arrested, Portable managed to escape and has been in hiding since the attack. Multiple invitations to him to report to the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, were ignored.
As a result of his continued evasion, the Ogun State Police Command has secured a court order declaring him wanted.
Odutola urged the public to assist the police by providing any information that could lead to Portable’s arrest. Anyone found assisting or harbouring the suspect will face legal consequences.
- Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to report it to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command via its official channels or the police public relations department.
