Singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, says he wants DNA tests to confirm that he is the biological father of the two children he has with actress Ashabi Simple.
Portable said he would not take responsibility for the children until their paternity is confirmed.
In an Instagram post, he wrote:
“Now I need DNA test asap so I can take care of those kids because I do not trust their mother. I cannot take care of another man child.”
In a voice note, the singer questioned the circumstances surrounding the children’s paternity. He pointed to Ashabi’s work as an actress, saying she sometimes stayed away from home for days because of film shoots.
He also dismissed the idea that the children’s resemblance to him was enough to settle the matter.
“Forget that the babies look like me, we were living together so the babies can look like me due to that”, he said.
Ashabi, on her part, accused Portable of not doing enough to provide for the children. She stated that between January and September, he had given ₦200,000 for their two children.
She said:
“I sha don give you Enough time to be responsible
January to September u gave. 2kids 200k.Have paid for 3 term school fees for them each.Have been feeding them all alone and clothing them”.
She also alleged that Portable had told her to take full responsibility for the children if she wanted them.
“Give me those kids or take care of them yourself”, she stated.
Ashabi said her main concern was the welfare of the children and accused the singer of avoiding responsibility.
“Online warrior, your fans will push you to canal. I do not really care about you but that you won’t be accountable and responsible for your children welfare, I am not just ready for you because I respect your people that was why I chatted you”, she stated.
The disagreement also touched on an allegation involving charms. Responding to the claim, Ashabi said:
“Why would I use charm on a finished man, I do not have the time”, she added.
At the centre of the dispute is Portable’s demand for DNA tests before he accepts responsibility for the two children, while Ashabi maintains that he should be accountable for their welfare.
