Portugal has won the 2025 UEFA Nations League, defeating Spain in a dramatic final on June 8 at the Allianz Arena in Munich

The match ended 2–2 after extra time, with goals from Spain’s Martín Zubimendi and Mikel Oyarzabal, while Nuno Mendes and Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Portugal. Ronaldo’s equalizer marked his 138th international goal and came in the dying minutes of regular time.
In the penalty shootout, Portugal converted all five of their kicks, while Spain missed once—handing Portugal a 5–3 victory. The win marks Portugal’s second UEFA Nations League title, following their 2019 triumph.
The match was billed as a generational clash, with 40-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo leading Portugal against Spain’s teenage star, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal.
Portugal now becomes the first nation to win the Nations League twice.
