President Bola Tinubu has declared that he has forgiven Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, saying, “It’s all over now. All is forgiven.”
The president made the remark on Saturday after a closed-door meeting with members of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who had come to plead on behalf of Sanwo-Olu and others believed to have fallen out of his favour.
Chairman of the GAC, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, who received Tinubu in Lagos, acknowledged that the president had been displeased with certain individuals in the state, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu, and appealed for reconciliation.
Sources at the meeting confirmed that Tinubu assured those present that he no longer held any grudges, especially against the governor.
In response, Sanwo-Olu and several GAC members reportedly prostrated before the president as a gesture of remorse.
Although the meeting did not go into the details of the rift, it centered on mending fences, with Tinubu ultimately accepting the apology and offering forgiveness.
