Nigerian socialite and entertainer Pretty Mike has spoken about his approach to the attention his public stunts receive, saying he treats it as part of his personal and creative lifestyle.
According to him, every action he takes in the public eye comes with the awareness that reactions can be mixed.
He explained that he has learned to handle both praise and criticism over time, building emotional resilience that helps him stay unaffected by public opinion. In his view, online reactions tend to die down quickly, no matter how intense they seem at first.
He also described his creative process as spontaneous, saying ideas often come to him without any formal planning or a structured team behind them. To him, the acts are meant as a form of entertainment and performance expression rather than something to be taken too seriously.
He further noted that he is comfortable investing significant money into these stunts, seeing it as part of how he enjoys life and expresses creativity, similar to how others spend on travel or leisure.
“I see it as part of the business. Before I do anything, I already know it can go either way, so I prepare myself mentally. Over the years, I have developed a thick skin. Some stunts go viral positively, some attract criticism, but I never let it affect me psychologically.
I always tell myself that after a few days, the noise will fade. Honestly, some of them feel divine. I do not have a creative team sitting down to plan these things. Sometimes I just wake up with an idea. As for the criticism, I understand it. But I also see stunts as entertainment and performance art.
There is really no limit to what I can spend on a stunt because, to me, it is part of having fun and creating an experience. Some people spend money travelling or partying. I channel mine into creative expressions,” he said.
