Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make TIME 100 Most Influential People list

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been named among the top 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine.

The Sussexes are featured alongside the likes of singer Britney Spears, Apple CEO Tim Cook and gymnast Simone Biles.

New pictures of the couple have been released for the magazine’s front cover to mark the accolade.

The former royals responded to say they were ‘humbled’ to be part of the list this year.

A piece written by celebrity chef Jose Andres praising Harry and Meghan’s ‘urgency and humanitarianism’ has been published to coincide with the top 100 being announced.

He wrote: ‘Springing into action is not the easy choice for a young duke and duchess who have been blessed through birth and talent, and burned by fame. It would be much safer to enjoy their good fortune and stay silent.

‘That’s not what Harry and Meghan do, or who they are. They turn compassion into boots on the ground through their Archewell Foundation. They give voice to the voiceless through media production.’
