Adeleye said the visit was meant to personally assess the survivor’s condition and ensure she is receiving appropriate medical and welfare support. She confirmed that Mirabel has been admitted and is undergoing thorough medical treatment, psychosocial care, and necessary clinical procedures in line with established protocols for handling alleged sexual assault cases. The Commissioner noted that the victim is responding positively to treatment.

She also commended the Ogun State Police Command for their swift and professional response once the case was transferred to the state. Adeleye praised the medical team and the Ogun State Ministry of Justice for their coordinated intervention.

“This structured approach is intended to protect the survivor’s welfare while ensuring that investigations are conducted professionally, thoroughly, and based strictly on verifiable evidence,” Adeleye said. She added that while clinical examinations and procedures continue, security agencies have begun investigations into the matter.

Reaffirming the state government’s position, Adeleye emphasized that the administration of Dapo Abiodun maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward sexual and gender-based violence.

“The welfare, dignity, and safety of every survivor remain our utmost priority. While we stand firmly with survivors, we are equally guided by due process. Investigations must be evidence-based, transparent, and fair to all parties involved. Anyone found culpable will face the full wrath of the law,” she said.

Adeleye assured the public that updates will be provided as credible findings emerge from the ongoing investigations and urged members of the public to avoid speculation or sensational commentary that could undermine due process. She reiterated the state government’s commitment to uncovering the truth and verifying the allegations.
