Actor and singer Ray Emodi has made a surprise return to Nollywood, just four months after revealing he was leaving the film industry to pursue music full-time
The 35-year-old shared the news in a YouTube video titled “Nollywood, I Am Sorry,” explaining that his time away from movie sets gave him a renewed appreciation for acting and reminded him of his passion for filmmaking.
Earlier this year, in February, Emodi announced that he was putting acting on hold to concentrate entirely on his music career, describing music as his lifelong passion despite his success in Nollywood.
Reflecting on the decision to step away, the actor said years of nonstop work had taken a toll on him, leaving him mentally and physically drained.
“I stopped acting because I was tired,” he said.
“Imagine acting from 2017 till the end of last year, about 300 productions. Eight years without vacations. If you do something too much, you naturally become exhausted.”
