Ray J made the bizarre revelation that he’s apparently hitching across the United States in a new Instagram video
In a post shared on Saturday, the 44-year-old singer and actor begged his fans for ‘food’ and a ‘place to stay tonight’ on his journey from Tampa, Florida, to Los Angeles.
In a puzzling move, Ray J (real name: William Ray Norwood Jr.) claimed that he was hitchhiking as a test for a reality show he’s working to make titled Celebrity Hitchhiking.
The odd video follows his shocking arrest on Thanksgiving for allegedly pulling a gun on his estranged wife, Princess Love.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Ray J’s representative for comment but has not yet received a response.
In the video, Ray J was standing on a city street sidewalk next to palm trees decorated with Christmas lights as he stuck out his thumb for passing cars.
I’m hitchhiking right now to try to get a place to stay tonight,’ Ray J said. ‘Hopefully I can be the new family, and it can take me in and teach me about their rules and their goals and life, and then send me on my way to the next destination.’
‘I’m just trying to understand if this show is good, so I’m hitchhiking right now,’ Ray J claimed, adding that he was on a ‘Celebrity Hitchhiking scouting run.’
‘So if y’all see me on the street, coming from Tampa, back to Los Angeles, it is me,‘ he added, noting that he had a ‘change of clothes’ in his bag.
The one-time boyfriend of Kim Kardashian said that he wanted to be back in LA before December 22, presumably to be there in time to celebrate Christmas.
He claimed that he was trying to film the ‘pilot’ for ‘Celebrity Hitching,’ then turned the camera around in a circle to indicate that no one was standing with him.
‘It’s real, and I’m all by myself. As you can see, nobody’s with me,’ he claimed.
‘I need some food and I need shelter. Just a lot of s*** that’s happened. And I just wanna get back home and see my kids,’ he said, seemingly alluding to his disturbing arrest on Thanksgiving. ‘It’s a hitchhiking show, but it’s real, though, at the same time, and I wanna make it really authentic. I just do it for real on my phone. I mean, I have a camera in there too, but it’s just me.’
In his caption, Ray J admitted that ‘Things got bad for me’ as he begged fans for ‘shelter and a little help.’
‘I know there is still good people out in this world [sic]. I promise I will repay you. Pls – I’m in tampa now,’ he continued. ‘Trying to get back to Los Angeles before Xmas to spend time with my family and kids. – I’m in a cream jump suit with a red backpack . I’m at the hard rock hotel at the moment . Can some one help me pls.’
The apparent chaos in Ray J’s life follows his estranged wife Princess Love has accused her ex Ray J of ‘abusing’ and ‘terrorizing’ women as she publicly responded to his arrest after he allegedly pulled a gun on her.
Ray J was arrested on Thanksgiving morning after he was seen on a Twitch livestream reaching for a handgun and apparently loading it – before Princess Love eventually entered the scene, accusing him of pointing the gun at her.
Princess Love, who shares daughter Melody, six, and son Epik, five, with Ray J, began by stressing how she has been focused on her own life and raising her kids.
