Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has found himself at the center of an online criticism.
He’s been promoting Kilanko, a movie directed by his late friend Allwell Ademola, using pictures and clips from the film.
While some fans praised his effort, a social media user accused him of “using” the deceased actress to sell the movie.
The troll wrote:
“I don’t know why you are using this lady to sell film? Please, let her rest peacefully.”
Salami didn’t hold back. In a blunt response, he told the critic:
“Some people comment with so much ignorance.
If e reach your turn, keep inside cupboard or hide the hard work of your late loved ones.”
The exchange highlights the fine line between promoting someone’s work and being accused of exploiting their memory.
Kilanko was one of Allwell Ademola’s last projects, and Salami’s posts show how social media can turn even simple promotion into controversy.
