No fewer than four people have been confirmed de.ad following a multiple-vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday along the Soka axis of the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway
According to eyewitnesses, the tragic incident involved four trailers, four Micra cars, and a Toyota Camry.
The crash reportedly happened when a trailer attempting to reverse out of an abandoned filling station was hit by another trailer approaching from behind.
The sudden impact caused a chain reaction as three more trailers following closely rammed into the scene, crushing several cars in the process.
It was gathered that a Micra commercial car was completely flattened in the collision, k!lling the driver and three passengers instantly.
Among the victims was a woman who had boarded the Micra with her husband from nearby Sanyo.
Emergency responders, including officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), quickly arrived at the scene alongside security and paramilitary operatives.
With the help of residents, the bodies were recovered from the wreckage and the injured rushed to nearby hospitals.
The accident has caused a major traffic jam on the Ibadan-bound section of the expressway, as efforts continue to clear the road.
