Senate President Godswill Akpabio has ignited discussions on Wednesday after mistakenly saying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had been buried, instead of referring to the late Muhammadu Buhari
The gaffe occurred during a plenary session at the National Assembly and was captured in a video shared by AIT on X.
Commending the conduct of Buhari’s state burial, Akpabio said: “The whole country is very proud of what this administration has done, in the way and manner President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was honored and was buried.”
The comment was meant for Buhari, who d!ed on July 13, 2025, in a London hospital, but Akpabio accidentally mentioned the sitting president, drawing swift attention from Nigerians online.
