The presentation was carried out by the National Chairman of the APM, Yusuf Dantalle, following delegates’ endorsement of Makinde’s candidacy at the event.

Before the official handover, Dantalle asked the 36 state chairmen of the party to decide whether Makinde should be adopted as the APM presidential candidate for 2027. The motion was approved through a voice vote by delegates present.

Speaking after the exercise, the APM national chairman described the development as a major milestone for the party and what he called the rise of the “Reset Nigerian Movement.”

He said Makinde’s emergence followed a peaceful primary election and reflected a new political alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the APM, and Nigerians seeking a different political direction.

While presenting the party flag to the governor, Dantalle commended Makinde’s leadership in Oyo State, describing him as an experienced politician whose administration has focused on improving the welfare of citizens.
