Sowore issues warning over MTN data complaints

Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has issued a strong warning to telecommunications company MTN Group over ongoing complaints from subscribers regarding rapid data depletion and billing concerns.

Sowore said a previously issued seven-day ultimatum given to the telecom operator has now expired, accusing the company of failing to address the issues and claiming that the situation has worsened.

He stated:
“MTN 7 days ultimatum expires today and we’re going to revisit thier case cos nothing has changed, infact, it has become w0rse, they’re still st33ling Data, they’re the biggest thi3f of Data in this country, MTN st3als 55k for monthly data from me cos it finishes in 3days”.

He alleged that customers continue to experience unusually fast data consumption, adding that he personally purchased a ₦55,000 monthly data plan which reportedly finished within three days.

Sowore warned that if the situation remains unresolved, further action would follow, as he continues to push for accountability and improved consumer protection in the telecom sector.

MTN has not yet issued an official response to the latest allegations at the time of this report.
