The protest, organized by the Coalition of Lovers of Freedom and dubbed the “One Million March,” seeks an end to Kanu’s detention. Kanu, who was convicted on terrorism charges, is currently serving a life sentence.

Sowore, known for his activism on human rights issues, was seen addressing participants and marching alongside them. In one clip, he reportedly said, “Kanu must spend this upcoming Easter holidays with us outside detention; he has suffered enough.”

The demonstration is part of a broader wave of protests by Kanu’s supporters across Nigeria, emphasizing peaceful calls for his freedom. Sowore’s participation underscores cross-regional solidarity in the ongoing campaign for Kanu’s release.
