There is growing wave online following an alleged incident in Effurun, Delta State, where a suspect was reportedly k!lled by police officers.
The video and reports circulating on social media have triggered widespread reactions, with many Nigerians once again raising concerns about police conduct and accountability.
Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has added his voice to the controversy, expressing strong concern over what he described as a recurring pattern of brutality within the police system.
His comments suggest that public frustration may be building toward another major protest movement similar to the EndSARS demonstrations.
Sowore did not hold back in his reaction.
He said:
“This things are not new. Nigerian police will see EndSARS 2.0 coming up soon. You can tell already from the immediate reactions of Nigerians that they håte police brut@lity.
Many of the police officers committing these atrøcities are former SARS officials who should have been dismissed from the police, but they can never change.
They know all of them and rely on them to carry out these dirty jobs.
They don’t know who took that video, otherwise they would have k!ll€d the person immediately.”
His statement has further fueled debate across social platforms, with many users agreeing that there is renewed anger in the country over how some police officers handle suspects and civilians. Others say the allegations should be properly investigated before conclusions are drawn.
