The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, is set to announce the end of Ramadan 2025 soon, following the sighting of a new moon, according to the Peoples Gazette
A member of Nigeria’s National Moonsighting Committee, Simwal, confirmed the sighting in a tweet on Saturday night.
“I just had a conversation with a committee member at the palace who confirmed there is a positive sighting report, and His Eminence will issue an announcement soon,” the tweet read.
The development comes hours after Saudi Arabia confirmed the sighting of a new moon and declared Sunday as Eid-el-Fitr.
