Muaziza Ambaraje survived amidst the chaos, with 17 family members among the deceased in the event of Mozambique’s recent ferry disaster, attributing overcrowding as the cause. 
Over 100 perished in the tragedy. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic and desperation as bodies piled up on the shore. Momade Issufo, one of the rescuers, recalls the heartbreaking sight of children among the casualties.
The incident has sparked calls for government action to regulate ferry operations and ensure safety. Authorities offer support, including transport, food, and psychological aid, while an inquiry seeks to uncover the accident’s cause. President Filipe Nyusi condemns misinformation spreaders, blaming them for exacerbating the tragedy. Despite the grief, survivors like Muaziza find solace in faith, acknowledging divine intervention in their survival.
