Tacha defends Victor Osimhen over outburst against Lookman

Tacha has come to Victor Osimhen’s defense after Nigerians criticized the Super Eagles striker for his heated exchange with teammate Ademola Lookman during Nigeria’s 4–0 Africa Cup of Nations win over Mozambique on January 5

The reason for Osimhen’s outburst remains unclear, though Lookman had previously assisted him for a goal in the match. While Osimhen confronted Lookman on the field, Lookman stayed composed.

The incident sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many fans condemning Osimhen’s behavior.

Responding to the backlash, Tacha took to her X account to defend the striker, suggesting that Nigerians’ complaints stem from witnessing Osimhen’s goal-scoring prowess. She compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo, asking whether fans would react the same way if it were Ronaldo in his place.
