The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the de.ath of an 18-year-old, Yusif Malam-Gwani, who drowned in an open water body at Bachirawa, Kwanar Madugu, in Ungogo Local Government Area of the state
The Director of the service, Alhaji Sani Anas, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, on Thursday in Kano.
He said, “We received a distress call from one Sulaiman Abdullahi-Tela on Thursday afternoon that Malam-Gwani had fallen into an open water.
“Upon receiving the report, a rescue team from the agency’s headquarters was immediately deployed to the scene.”
According to him, the victim was retrieved de.ad from the water and handed over to the ward head of Bachirawa Quarters, Jibrin Isah.
