Demolish looters’ properties like K!dnappers – Sowore tells FG

Omoyele Sowore has called on the Federal Government to extend its demolition policy against k!dnappers’ hideouts to include luxurious properties owned by politicians and public officials accused of looting public funds

In a statement shared on his X handle today, Tuesday, 9th of June, Sowore argued that the same strict approach used should also apply to those who embezzle public resources.

He maintained that stealing from the public treasury inflicts greater harm on society, describing it as a form of “k!dnapping” that deprives citizens of essential services and development.

“There is no reason why the demolition of houses should be limited only to k!dnappers.

“If the government truly believes that property acquired through or used for criminal activity should be destroyed immediately, then the same principle must apply to politicians.

“Public treasury looting is a form of kidnapping too, it kidnaps healthcare, education, jobs, infrastructure, and the future of millions of Nigerians,” he said.

Sowore added that public officials and other powerful individuals who allegedly acquire wealth through corruption should also face similar consequences, including the demolition of properties built with stolen funds.

“Public officials, and other powerful individuals who steal public funds to build mansions and acquire vast assets should have their mansion demolished,” he stated.
