The investigation into the death of One Direction star Liam Payne, who tragically fell to his death in Argentina on October 16 at the age of 31, is ongoing as his body has been returned to the UK.
Reports indicate that three people are now under investigation in connection with his death: two employees of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, where he passed away, and one of his close friends.
According to the Argentinian newspaper ‘Clarin’, a friend seen with Liam shortly before his death is under investigation for allegedly “abandoning” him.
It is unclear if the three individuals under investigation, though not yet charged, have been formally questioned as suspects.
Nine property raids are reported to have been conducted as part of the investigation.
‘La Nacion’ reports that eight of these properties are linked to the three people being investigated.
The outlet also claims one man has been formally charged with abandonment after investigators attempted to reach him on contact numbers provided by hotel staff on the day of Liam’s death, though he reportedly did not respond.
