The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested three young women filmed assaulting and stripping Nancy Wilfred, a student of the Federal University, Otuoke, in Yenagoa
In the clip, the suspects were seen slapping, kicking, and punching the victim before cutting off her braids with a sharp object. The attack was reportedly linked to allegations that Nancy was involved with the boyfriend of one of the assailants.
Following widespread outrage, the police launched a manhunt and apprehended the suspects on charges including assault, attempted murder, grievous harm, cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and abduction.
According to authorities, operatives from Zone 16, with support from the university’s security team, first arrested the prime suspect identified as Kadi. Her confession led to the capture of the other two accomplices.
Bayelsa Police Commissioner confirmed that the suspects are in custody and undergoing interrogation ahead of their arraignment. He further assured the public that the command remains committed to delivering justice and safeguarding law and order.
