President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs following the resignation of Yusuf Tuggar, who stepped down to pursue his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections
The appointment was announced by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, and is seen as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic leadership and foreign policy direction.

Ojukwu, a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, is expected to take full charge of the ministry, bringing continuity and experience to Nigeria’s international engagements.
In a related move, President Tinubu also nominated Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, subject to Senate confirmation.
