President Bola Tinubu has been excluded among the African leaders invited to the White House for discussions on trade and commercial opportunities

Trump is scheduled to host leaders from Senegal, Mauritania, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau, and Gabon on July 9.
A White House official disclosed that the meeting, which includes a lunch session, is aimed at exploring economic collaboration.
“President Trump believes that African countries offer incredible commercial opportunities which benefit both the American people and our African partners,” the official stated.
The Trump administration, known for its “America First” stance, had previously slashed large portions of foreign aid to Africa, arguing that such spending was wasteful and misaligned with U.S. priorities.
Despite the aid cuts, Washington has emphasized its commitment to strengthening trade and investment ties that promote shared economic growth.
