Tinubu is currently on the second phase of his annual leave, which he is spending between France and the United Kingdom. Wednesday’s engagement marks his seventh visit to Paris since taking office in May 2023 and his first since attending the BRICS Summit in Brazil and the Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Japan earlier this year.

In the first nine months of 2025, the President has embarked on 15 international trips across 11 countries, including summits, bilateral meetings, state visits, inaugurations, and official leave.

His diplomatic itinerary began on January 6 with a visit to Accra, Ghana, where he attended the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama. He later travelled to the UAE for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit, held meetings with Gulf investors, and visited Tanzania for the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit.

In February, Tinubu visited France and participated in the 37th African Union Summit in Ethiopia, where he joined other African leaders to discuss regional security, climate adaptation, and continental trade integration.

From April 2 to 21, he embarked on a two-week working visit to France and the United Kingdom. In May, he attended the historic inauguration of Pope Leo XIV in Rome.

Between June 28 and July 4, Tinubu paid a landmark state visit to Saint Lucia, where he addressed CARICOM leaders before heading to Brazil for the 17th BRICS Summit.

In July, he travelled to Japan for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development, meeting Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss maritime security and digital infrastructure. The trip included a stopover in Dubai, UAE — his second visit to the Gulf nation this year.

This September, Tinubu began another working vacation to the UK and France, marking his third visit to Paris and second to London in 2025.
