President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a series of new and renewed appointments across major education agencies in Nigeria, covering the National Examinations Council (NECO), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), a federal polytechnic in Plateau State, and the National Library of Nigeria
Under the new appointments, Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu has been named Chairman of the Governing Board of NECO, while Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi will continue as the agency’s Registrar.

Engr. Dr Bongfa Binfa has also been appointed Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam in Plateau State, following the expiration of the tenure of its pioneer rector. He is expected to serve a single five-year term.
For the NBTE, Professor Babatunde Salako has been appointed as Chairman, while Professor Idris M. Bugaje has had his tenure as Executive Secretary renewed for a final five-year term.
In the National Library of Nigeria, Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi has been reappointed as Director General and Chief Executive Officer for another five-year term, having first assumed office in 2021.
The appointments feature experienced academics and administrators with backgrounds in education, research, and public service.
