President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently meeting with governors elected on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform at the State House in Abuja
The closed-door session, taking place at the conference hall of the State House, brings together members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) just hours before the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
Imo State Governor and PGF Chairman, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is leading 23 other APC governors to the high-stakes meeting, seen as critical in light of recent political shifts within the ruling party.
As of 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji were among the early arrivals at the venue.
A key item on the agenda is the selection of a new substantive APC National Chairman following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje last month.
The decisions reached at tonight’s gathering are expected to shape the direction of Thursday’s NEC meeting, where major leadership and strategic party issues will be deliberated.
