The United States and Iran have reached a breakthrough agreement aimed at ending hostilities and restoring maritime activity through the Strait of Hormuz, according to statements from U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian officials
Trump announced the development on Truth Social, declaring that the deal had been finalised and confirming the end of restrictions affecting naval operations in the region.
“The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” Trump wrote. “I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”
Around the same time, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced that a peace agreement had been reached following extensive diplomatic discussions between both sides.
“Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED,” Sharif stated on X, adding that both parties had agreed to immediately end all military operations.
