Travis John Branson, a US man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to hunt and traffic bald and golden eagles

Branson confessed to shooting thousands of these majestic birds over several years and selling their parts and feathers on the black market.
In incriminating text messages, Branson boasted about his illegal activities, describing himself as “committing felonies” and engaging in a “killing spree.”
Facing serious charges, including conspiracy and illegal trafficking of protected eagles, Branson could be sentenced to up to five years in prison and fined approximately $250,000.
Operating from his home in Washington state, Branson would make regular trips to western Montana for his illegal hunts, where he collaborated with an accomplice named Simon Paul. Together, they are accused of killing around 3,600 birds, primarily on the Flathead Indian Reservation.
Although Branson has pleaded guilty, his accomplice, Simon Paul, remains at large and wanted on similar charges.
