Social media activist VeryDarkMan has called out Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson and her husband over the alleged arrest of content creator Eddie Bliss, who reportedly shared claims about the actress’s husband online.
In a video, VeryDarkMan addressed the situation directly, saying:
“Alright, so, Mercy Johnson, a lot of people have been sending me DMs about the girl that you allegedly arrested. According to them, it’s your husband that arrested her over a video she made. Now, this girl said her source is QTJuice. She never claimed to be the source herself.”
He criticized the alleged use of police power, insisting that the matter is a civil issue and not one that warrants detention:
“If you have a problem with the girl, take her to court. Na civil matter. You don’t just use police to oppress somebody. Let the girl go, or we go send lawyer. We go release her, not beg.”
VeryDarkMan also referenced Mercy Johnson’s previous activism, particularly her involvement in Regina Daniels’ family dispute:
“Mr. Johnson, was it not last month here today Ned arrested Regina Daniels’ brother? You people should go and release the girl. You don’t go use your influence to intimidate someone.”
He further condemned what he described as intimidation and oppression, stating:
“To me, you are the greatest actress of all time. But we will not let you do this. This is intimidation and oppression. You and your husband are trying to oppress the lady with your power. Let her go.”
According to VeryDarkMan, Eddie Bliss had posted allegations about Mercy Johnson’s husband impregnating another woman, and that the blogger’s source was publicly cited. He insisted that the arrest is unjustified and warned that legal action would follow if she remained detained.
As of now, Mercy Johnson and her husband have not publicly responded to the allegations.
