Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has broken silence following the collapse of his proposed transfer to AC Milan, using humor and defiance to push back against critics.
In a post shared on Instagram, the Nigerian forward wrote in Pidgin English:
“Boniface no serious he dey everywhere.
I dey club like Leverkusen and club like Milan want me and I no serious.
So if I serious na club for Jupiter I go dey play.
Clowns everywhere.
If I no serious and I dey this level make I remain like that.”
His comments come after sections of the Nigerian media accused him of being “too chronically online” and unprofessional, allegations Boniface has strongly rejected.
The 23-year-old also reached out to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, asking him to remove a post linking the failed move to media criticism. According to Boniface, the deal collapsed strictly because of medical concerns, not because of his social media presence.
Reports indicate that AC Milan withdrew from the transfer after the striker failed a medical assessment due to lingering knee and muscle issues from previous injuries.
