The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially launched its Digital Certificate Services System, WAEC DigiCert, across all member countries, including The Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone
The rollout was announced in a press release from WAEC Headquarters on Nelson Mandela Avenue, Okponglo, Accra, Ghana.

The mobile and web-based platform enables candidates, schools, and other stakeholders to request, access, verify, and share digital copies of WAEC certificates. It also allows users to recover lost examination numbers.
WAEC highlighted that the digital system is secure, ensures authenticity, and helps cut costs and administrative delays associated with traditional certificate issuance.
Speaking on the launch, Demianus G. Ojijeogu, Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, said:
“Following a successful pilot in Nigeria, WAEC DigiCert has received positive feedback from candidates and institutions worldwide. We urge the public to adopt this system to streamline certificate verification and reduce delays.”
The council reassured the public that physical certificate printing and issuance will continue as usual.
The WAEC DigiCert mobile app is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play. More information can be found at www.waec.org or via @WAECDigicert on social media.
