Seyi Shay has explained why she took a four-year music hiatus, describing it as a transformative period of self-reflection, healing, and spiritual growth
Stepping away helped her reset and gain clarity on life, relationships, and purpose. “I started a journey of isolation… I could reflect and was blessed with insight which gave me foresight,” she said.
She claimed motherhood and solitude reshaped her spirituality and view of men. She also said she’s co-parenting with her daughter’s father, a Nigerian music industry professional in the UK, and they’re “great friends”.
She cited “technical issues” for not being married.
She’s embracing her newfound comfort with men, saying “I love all the men. It’s a man’s world”.
