Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that Abuja will not be available for protests on August 1

The day has been reserved for the chairpersons of the six area councils to present certificates of recognition to their traditional rulers.
According to People’s Gazette, Nyesom Wike emphasized that the security council is aware of the planned protest and reminded citizens that their right to protest must be exercised within the law.
He expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to address the country’s challenges and urged Nigerians to be patient.
Nyesom Wike highlighted the positive changes in FCT and emphasized that the government will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace and progress in the city.
He reiterated that FCT is not available for protests on August 1 or anytime soon.
