American actor Will Smith, has honored his mentor Quincy Jones, who served as the composer and executive producer for ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘.

Will Smith launched his successful acting career by portraying a fictionalized version of himself in the popular series ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘.

Before this, he was known as the MC of the hip-hop duo DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.

The show aired from 1990 to 1996 and was executive produced by Quincy Jones, who sadly passed away over the weekend at the age of 91, surrounded by family.

In response to the news of Quincy’s passing, Will shared a heartfelt black-and-white photo on Instagram, showing Quincy smiling and pointing at him while Will rested his head on his hand.

In his tribute, Will expressed, “Quincy Jones is the true definition of a Mentor, a Father, and a Friend. He helped me discover the best parts of myself. He stood up for me, nurtured me, and inspired me. He held me accountable when needed and allowed me to use his wings until I could fly on my own.”
