Yall are illiterates - Charles Soludo slams APC Gubernatorial candidates

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Senator Uche Ekwunife, over what he described as their inadequate educational qualifications

Soludo made the remarks through Prof. Solo Osita Chukwulobelu, Director General of the Soludo-Ibezim Campaign Organisation (SICO) and Secretary to the Anambra State Government. Chukwulobelu argued that the duo lacks the competence to govern the state.

The campaign release stated: “A key consideration in any election is the qualifications of candidates to hold office. For Anambra, a state renowned for excellence and producing some of Nigeria’s most educated leaders, this is especially important in choosing a governor.”

Highlighting the credentials of past governors, including Soludo’s own sterling record, the statement said Ukachukwu and Ekwunife’s qualifications fall far below the standard expected.

“It is confirmed that the APC ticket of Nicholas Ukachukwu and Uche Ekwunife represents the weakest educational credentials for the office of governor in Anambra’s history. Ukachukwu submitted a GCE certificate with failing grades in English, Mathematics, and Economics, raising serious doubts about his literacy and numeracy—basic requirements for effective governance. Anambra cannot be led by someone whose ability to read, write, or perform basic calculations is uncertain.”

Regarding Ekwunife, the statement noted: “She declared a GCE and a PhD without an undergraduate degree on her INEC form. Together, the APC candidates present the worst and arguably fake credentials for governorship in Anambra’s history. Anambra is moving forward, not backward.”

The campaign added: “We are focused on earning every vote through the value we have delivered and will continue to create for the people. However, the question of who possesses the basic qualifications to govern Anambra will remain central in this campaign. Anambra is far too sophisticated to be led by semi-illiterates or individuals of questionable competence.”
