“You can’t be calling me by my first name anyhow” – Mo Abudu on younger people

Tinubu celebrates Mo Abudu

Mo Abudu is very particular about respect, especially when it comes to how younger people address her.

The 61-year-old EbonyLife boss made this clear during her appearance on Toke Moments with Toke Makinwa, where she talked about the values she picked up from her grandmother while growing up in Ondo.

For Abudu, being called by her first name without any regard for age or seniority is simply not acceptable.

She said:

“I am very traditional. I was brought up in Ondo by my grandmother. You can’t be calling me by my first name anyhow. I won’t take it!”

She also pushed back against the way she is sometimes described in business. While some may see her as tough or aggressive, Abudu believes the reaction would be different if she were a man.

“If I was a man, they wouldn’t say I was a shark. They’re going to say she’s an astute businesswoman”, she stated.

When the conversation moved to love and relationships, Abudu made it clear that heartbreak is no longer something she loses sleep over.

“Nobody can break my heart”,she stated.

And when it comes to the kind of man she would consider dating, age is not something she plans to compromise on. She would rather be with someone of her age or older and doing something great for himself.
