Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede has shared a video, revealing her decision to shave her head for an upcoming movie
In her post, Yvonne Jegede explained that she believes authentic storytelling requires a willingness to take risks and step out of one’s comfort zone.
To fully embody her character, she chose to make a physical transformation, cutting her hair.
Yvonne stated, “I see myself as a tool to convey the appropriate message… If the script deserves it, I will do whatever needs to be done to give the story life.”
Yvonne Jegede is also learning Yoruba language for the role.
“I have always believed that to tell a story authentically, you must be willing to give everything to the role,” Jegede said.
“Cutting my hair wasn’t just about changing my appearance; it was about shedding my comfort and embracing a new side of myself for the sake of the story,” she said.
