The Federal Government has appointed music superstar and humanitarian Innocent “2Face” Idibia as its National Fire Safety Ambassador, tasking him with promoting public awareness and encouraging behavioural change in fire prevention across Nigeria
The announcement was made on Friday in Abuja by the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi, during the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Fire Safety Week at the Service’s Headquarters.

Speaking at the event, themed “Building a Culture of Fire Safety Across Nigeria: Overcoming the ‘Not My Portion’ Mentality,” Adeyemi, represented by Deputy Controller General Aliyu Tambari, highlighted the importance of shifting public mindset to recognise that fire disasters can affect anyone.
Special recognition was given to 2Face Idibia, whose influence and reach are expected to strengthen national fire safety messaging, inspire behavioural change, and engage millions of Nigerians with the safety agenda.
“As a National Fire Safety Ambassador, we expect him to inspire a new generation to embrace a culture of safety,” Adeyemi said.
