Nigerian student, Oseke stabbed to death in Canada

Police have identified the man fatally stabbed Sunday evening at a Scarborough parking lot as a 28-year-old student from Nigeria.

Police were called to the parking lot, near Eglinton Avenue and Brimley Road, for a stabbing at 7:10 p.m.

Toronto police said two men were involved in an altercation.

Officers found one man with signs of trauma at the scene. He was taken to hospital, where he died.

On Tuesday evening, police publicly identified the victim as Ifeanyichukwu Oseke, a 28-year-old student from Nigeria.

The suspect is described as being a man with medium-length dark hair, police said in a news release, adding he was wearing a light-coloured tank top, pants and shoes and was last seen getting into a dark-coloured sedan, travelling south on Brimley from Eglinton.

Oseke is Toronto’s 27th murder victim of the year.
