Britney Spears speaks on ‘finding her real body’ after conservatorship

In a candid Instagram post on Monday, American singer and dancer, Britney Spears shared her journey of “finding her real body” following the end of her conservatorship.

The 42-year-old pop icon, currently on vacation in Turks and Caicos, has been enjoying her new found freedom since the court terminated the conservatorship in November 2021, which restored her control over her finances, career, and personal life.

Previously, Britney’s life had been managed by her father, Jamie Spears, in what he claimed was a protective measure for her well-being—a claim Britney has since described as “abusive.”

Now, reflecting on her post-conservatorship life, Britney expressed joy in “owning her feet” again and even hinted at the possibility of opening a dance studio.

In the post, Britney shared a video of herself dancing in a leopard-print bodysuit and wrote about her ongoing healing process.

She explained how her phone kept showing her two images: one of her broken foot and another of a church, which she interpreted as a reminder of her past struggles.

“I’m like, what is my phone trying to tell me?!” she wrote, adding, “I want to find my real body… the one that would never do something if I didn’t want to.”

Britney continued, emphasizing the importance of mental healing first.

She shared how she previously felt disconnected from her own body due to years of being pushed into actions she disagreed with, describing it as “humiliating.”

Now, she says, she is experiencing a “spiritual transformation.“
