After Donald Trump’s dramatic declaration of victory in key battleground states, American rapper, Cardi B delivered an expletive-filled message directed at Trump supporters and shared her support for Kamala Harris.
Trump announced his win early Wednesday morning after securing North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, while Harris captured states like California and Colorado, though appeared poised to lose to her Republican rival.
During an Instagram live session with 37,000 viewers, the Grammy-winning artist spoke passionately about her pride in Harris, despite aggressive comments from Trump supporters flooding the chat.
After reading a comment suggesting, “Cardi we need you at the Trump inauguration,” she responded, “I swear to god I’m gonna f*** you up, get away from me! I’m sick of you! Burn your f***ing hats motherf****r. I’m really sad. I swear to god I’m really sad.”
Speaking warmly of Harris, Cardi said, “No matter what, I know that she’s probably emotional right now. I know there’s probably a lot going on in her mind, and I know she’s not listening to this, but she will eventually see it. I just hope she knows no matter what happens tonight, millions of people are proud of her. Women around the world are proud of her. Women of color are proud of her.”
Reflecting on her support for Harris, Cardi admitted, “Y’all, I know how I felt at the beginning of the f***ing year, I didn’t want to vote for anybody. She changed my mind. I feel like she was very honest and said the things I wanted to hear.”
