Jennifer Lopez revealed that canceling her summer tour was the “best thing she’d ever done” as she navigated her split from husband Ben Affleck after two years of marriage.
The 55-year-old singer canceled her ‘This Is Me… Live‘ tour in May, initially telling fans she was “heartsick and devastated” to let them down.
Later, divorce documents confirmed that the couple had separated the month before.
At the time, a statement explained that Jennifer was stepping back from the spotlight “to be with her children.”
Speaking on ‘The Graham Norton Show‘ on Friday, she said, “I took the summer off to be home with the kids, which is the best thing I have ever done.”
Jennifer, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, added, “It was not like me to do that, so I always want to apologize to the fans.”
She also mentioned meeting a fan the day before her interview, who shared that he had bought a ticket to one of the canceled shows.
