A Federal High Court in Lagos State has dismissed a fundamental rights lawsuit filed by Bobrisky, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)

Bobrisky had sought N200 million in damages from the EFCC for alleged psychological trauma and demanded N1 billion from the National Assembly for allegedly violating his right to a fair hearing. He also requested an order restraining the EFCC and the National Assembly from harassing, detaining, or declaring him wanted.
The case gained attention after social media influencer Martins Otse leaked an audio recording, claiming that Bobrisky paid the EFCC N15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.
Delivering judgment, Justice Alexander Owoeye ruled that Bobrisky’s claims of rights violations were without merit and unsupported by credible evidence.
“Having evaluated the evidence presented by the Applicant, it is clear that the Applicant failed to provide credible proof to justify the declaratory and injunctive reliefs sought. The claims of rights violations against the 1st and 2nd Respondents were not substantiated by the affidavit evidence before this Court,” Justice Owoeye stated.
He further ruled that the claims against the EFCC and the National Assembly lacked merit and dismissed the case. The judge also declined to award damages against the EFCC.
The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the court’s decision in a statement released on Friday.
