Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100

He d!ed peacefully at his home in Plains, Georgia, where he had been in hospice care since February 2023.
Carter, the longest-living U.S. president, was known for his commitment to peace, human rights, and humanitarian efforts. After serving one term as president from 1977 to 1981, he dedicated his post-presidency to causes such as global health, democracy, and affordable housing through the Carter Center and Habitat for Humanity.
In 2002, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his decades of work in conflict resolution, human rights advocacy, and social justice.
A state funeral is planned in Washington, D.C., followed by a private burial in his hometown. Carter leaves behind a legacy of compassion and service that will be remembered for generations.
