President Bola Tinubu has reinstated Salihu Dembos as director-general of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing the appointment of media entrepreneur Rotimi Pedro announced in August
In a statement issued Tuesday, presidential adviser on information and strategy Bayo Onanuga said Dembos will resume office to complete his three-year tenure, which began in October 2023.

Tinubu also ordered the return of Ayo Adewuyi as executive director of news to finish his term, which is scheduled to run until 2027. Adewuyi was first appointed in 2024.
The directive overturns last month’s management reshuffle at NTA, during which Pedro — a veteran broadcaster and sports media consultant — was named director-general.
That shake-up also included the appointments of Karimah Bello as executive director of marketing, Stella Din as executive director of news, and Sophia Mohammed as managing director of NTA Enterprises Limited.
All of those changes have now been nullified.
