President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Grace Adayilo
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike announced the gesture on Saturday during her funeral service at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.

The service was attended by top government officials, civil servants, family, and friends who came to pay their last respects to Adayilo, who recently passed away in Abuja.
Wike described her death as a painful loss, hailing her as a committed, humble, and diligent public servant whose contributions to the FCT Administration will be deeply missed.
He commended her dedication to duty, noting that she worked tirelessly to ensure timely payment of salaries and entitlements for civil servants and was widely respected as a community mobilizer.
“We all know that we will die one day, that is guaranteed. When you meet certain people in life, you never want to lose them. It becomes more painful when there is no sign that someone you work with is leaving, only to hear the next day that the person is gone. It is very painful,” Wike said.
He recalled meeting Adayilo when she was among the first set of permanent secretaries appointed by President Tinubu after he reformed the system to allow FCT civil servants to rise to that position rather than relying on postings from the federal civil service.
“On behalf of the Federal Capital Territory Administration and on behalf of Mr. President, we send our condolences to the family and the children. Mr. President has directed me to give the four children automatic employment because he understands that, with their breadwinner gone, this will help them survive,” Wike stated.
