Chef Hilda Baci has been awarded her second Guinness World Record plaque, this time for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice
Guinness World Records confirmed that Baci prepared 8,780kg (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a cookout in Lagos last September, setting a new global benchmark.

This achievement follows her first Guinness title in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, making her Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
Celebrating her latest accomplishment on Instagram, Baci described the dual recognition as a testament to “faith, fire, and history,” highlighting how both records showcase Nigeria’s culinary talent and creativity.
“Our plaques are finally here! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records—two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves, a story that reached over five billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me,” she wrote.

Quoting Isaiah 61:7, she added that her journey reflects the promise of “a double portion instead of shame, and everlasting joy instead of disgrace.”
Baci’s record-breaking jollof rice drew more than 20,000 attendees, including food enthusiasts, celebrities, and influencers. In keeping with Guinness guidelines, every portion of the giant dish was shared with guests and charitable organizations.
